The Course (see map)
From the start in Park Street, the course heads west past Fairford Church
over the Mill Bridge. At the end of Mill Lane the course turns right onto
the Quenington Road. Mill Lane has some blind bends and will be closed to
traffic from the start of the race until runners have cleared. The next
3km are a gently undulating climb toward Quenington. The course turns
right in Quenington and down a hill. The 5km point is on the bridge. From
the bridge the course climbs for 1km. After the right turn, the course is
a straight gradual decline for 3km to Fairford. The course runs through
the Croft, right into the High Street and right again by St Mary's Church
to the finish in Park Street. The route will be marked by direction
arrows. Marshals will be located at road crossings. There will be
kilometre markers. The water station will be roughly half way between the
5km and the 6km points. There will be a lead vehicle preceding the field
and a sweep vehicle (with a first-aider on board) following the field. |
