On 8th April 2009 The Volunteer Bureau opened in a charity shop at the top of the High Street and it was immediately full of shoppers.

Manned by volunteers it will sell second hand books, clothes, bedding, china, toys - in fact anything except food and electrical goods. It will also operate a second hand primary school uniform scheme.

It is hoped that any profit will help fund the community bus.
